Casa Axis recently welcomed the Alcorcón-born writer, tattooist, and artist Jesús Cuesta for a unique creative residency. For decades, Jesús has been a pivotal figure in Spanish graffiti culture, bringing a highly personal and raw vision to every medium he touches.
From live tattooing sessions to large-scale graffiti installations, the residency captured a moment where urban heritage meets contemporary exploration.
His residency culminated in ‘Satélites y Toboganes,’ a definitive showcase that encapsulates the full spectrum of Cuesta’s artistic evolution. The exhibition served as a comprehensive manifesto of his career: a journey that flows seamlessly from the raw energy of Madrid’s graffiti and early sketches to the precision of tattooing, and further into the physical realm with intricate sculptures, limited prints, and even experimental objects like custom paintballs. It is the materialization of a multidisciplinary universe where the street and the studio finally collide.
